There is a saying: buy the right one, not the expensive one.

Most people believe that the more expensive something is, the better it is.

Although it cannot be denied that toys with slightly higher prices tend to have better quality compared to cheaper toys, it does not mean that all more expensive toys are better.

When choosing toys for children, we should select based on the child's age and personality traits.

Since I am not sure how old your child is, I can provide you with some reference suggestions.

Several guidelines to follow when selecting toys:

1/ Choose suitable types of toys based on the child's age.

If the child is younger, try to avoid buying beads, paints, crayons, and any toys that may pose safety hazards. For example, children aged 8 months to 1 year are in a sensitive period for their hands and mouths. If parents buy small beads, paints, or similar toys, the child may easily put them in their mouth. Small beads can be easily swallowed, and paints or crayons can be ingested or get into the eyes, which is very detrimental to the child's health and safety.

2/ The material and safety of the toys must meet standards.

Many toys that children play with are made of plastic, which comes in many types. It is not advisable for parents to buy toys from roadside stalls, not because cheap toys are bad, but because many roadside toys are unwrapped, and some even lack information about the manufacturer and production date. Whether toys without certification and manufacturers are safe for children is a significant concern.

Especially for plastic toys, those without a manufacturer are likely made from recycled old plastics. Such plastics may have lead content that exceeds safety standards, posing a serious health risk to children.

I have seen many children who are hyperactive, do not like to eat, and often chew on their fingers or strange objects, which is largely due to excessive lead content, a significant part of which comes from long-term exposure to toys with high lead levels.

3/ Do not buy children toys that lack creativity and are rigid.

Many children like toys that light up, or those that can run, sing, or move when a switch is turned on.

However, personally, I do not recommend parents buy such toys for their children. These toys, which only need batteries to run, light up, or sing, are actually not beneficial for the child's brain development and growth.

Because playing with these toys does not require any mental effort, it is very easy for children. They just need to turn on the switch and watch the toy 'sing', 'dance', or 'move forward' and 'backward', without needing to use their hands or brains. What is the point of buying such toys? Just to entertain the child?

When choosing toys for children, what issues should be considered?

Toys are very important for children; they help children understand the world. The best toys are those that are suitable for children. Having too many toys is not good, and having too few is also not good. So, how many toys are just right? Psychologists suggest that having five toys is just right. This gives children a range of options without overwhelming them with choices, and it helps them maintain focus.
